TATRA PRATYAYAKTANTA DHAYAM (Yog 3/2)

To concentrate mind on specific object is Dhayana. In this Dharna, one sees external sky in Hridyesh with a peaceful mind and feels presence of only light of God. To concentrate continuously at this place of Dharna is called Dhayana. Or to understand each element of God in the mind is Dhayana.(meditation) Dhayana is of Two types:

  1. Nirguna Dhayana (meditation)
  2. Saguna Dhayana (meditation)

  1. Nirguna  Dhayana: First practice Pranayam after sitting in any Dhyan (meditative) Asana. Then feel the existence of God which is omnipresent, light house, pure,  brahama, nirakar & is divine pleasure. Feel as if you are mingling in that divine pleasure. It is in the same way as ball of iron when put in fire, itself becomes Fire Pinda. Similarly feel, you are becoming Brahama like after mingling with Him. This Dhayana is called Nirguna Dhayana. In the beginning, think of sky and concentrate on supreme god bigger than sky and enjoy divine pleasure of Brahama (God) and thereby do Nirguna Dhayana.
  2. Saguna Dhayana :
    1. Sit in Meditative posture and do some Pranayam. Then concentrate on forehead between eye-brows. See this place after closing your eyes. Where ever your eye balls gets stable, make that place centre of Dharna. See the tip of light with your internal eyes. When you start seeing light, feel as if God exists there. After getting mature with practice, take this light to your heart and feel in each light a sky full of light, there prevails your like God.
    2. Feel in your Sahastrachakra or in your heart , peaceful rays as cool as moon rays coming out and I am like cool rays staying in heart in Suksham ruppa. These rays are in fact is God with divine water and I am becoming Brahamha after bathing in these cool rays.
    3. Place sun like God in you and feel as if you are getting full of light bright Brahamah. This is called Surya Dhayana.
    4. After waking up in the last part of night i.e. before dawn and after finishing your rituals sit with concentration on soft seat. Do Pranayam 10 to 21 times. Concentrate your mind between eyebrows and Sahastra Chakra. Concentrate on inner-self after controlling your Prana. In this way, by concentrating, mind becomes peaceful and after purity of mind, can have the sight of the Great God, who is like lightening in the sky.
